Light Weight Duct

Lightweight-duct

Alongside our traditional Sheet Metal manufacturing, Vic Air Supplies also offers their Customers an in-house Light Weight Duct production option.

Light Weight Duct meets all the same regulations as Sheet Metal, as well as a couple key points that make this an attractive option for Installers, Architects and end users.

As the name would suggest, Light Weight Duct is lighter than Sheet Metal; at around one seventh of the weight of equivalent pieces. This feature drastically reduces OH&S risk factors and positively effects the time required for installation.

Our Duct board is pre-insulated; Thicknesses of the Board start at 20mm all the way to 63mm with R2.0 Board only 42mm being the largest currently produced in Melbourne compared to 75mm for Insulated Sheet Metal huge weight and size reductions. Made from high density Polyutherane with non-corrosive, can withstand pressures up to 2000pa and has an operating temperature range from -35 degrees up to +110 degrees.

Thermal Insulation

We custom make products in lightweight duct board with very high thermal insulation properties. This high performance duct board is manufactured from a rigid polyurethane foam board that is then faced on both sides with aluminium foil.

Benefits of Thermal Duct Board

Duct Board

The insulating properties of thermal duct board compare very favourably to other products, and all from a product that is very thin and lightweight. This makes our duct board a very versatile product for a range of applications.

Locally Made Ductwork for Melbourne

Ductwork Melbourne

When they want locally manufactured ductwork, Melbourne HVAC professionals can turn to Vic Air Supplies for a custom solution. We manufacture thermal duct transitions, unit specific V-boxes, return air boxes, and cushion boxes from our high quality, lightweight thermal duct.

Why Choose Foam Board Duct?

Foam Board Duct

Our foam board duct provides great insulation, without any fibre release or dispersion. It’s resistant to high air pressure (both positive and negative), and it’s also quicker to install, with reduced hangers required.

Fast Facts About Our Thermal Duct

Thermal Duct

This clever thermal duct is also resistant to salty atmospheres, and its reduced weight on the building makes it suitable for installation in a range of circumstances where other forms of duct would work poorly.

Lightweight Thermal Ducting

Thermal Ducting

The lightweight nature of thermal ducting also makes it easier to handle and install. This both saves your customers money, as there is less labour time needed for a full installation, and it cuts down on the manual handling risks associated with heavier duct.

The Best Duct for Thermal Insulation in Melbourne

Thermal Insulation Melbourne

Our thermal duct didn’t get its name by chance. When they’re looking for duct that displays excellent thermal insulation, Melbourne HVAC professionals buy from Vic Air Supplies, because they know that our thermal duct will always give superior insulation for its weight and thickness.

ALP System,

ALP – Pre-Insulated duct developer has been leading the globe in light weight duct systems offering solutions for Commercial and Residential markets globally.

ALP systems offer a variety of patented solutions including the world class ALP active antimicrobial systems ideal for high infectious facilities such as operating theatres. Using the ALP patented Silver Zeolite technology, ALP active has shown to eliminate over 99.9% of 600 plus pathogen known to be destructive to human livelihood.  ALP round patented system is a one of a kind true round pre-insulated duct, astatically pleasing for an appealing relaxing environment.; ALP round offers a full system for a complete round duct application. ALP has a range of panels in various thicknesses and durability, giving the user a complete system for any conditioned air movement required, including Swimming pools, outdoor applications, high traffic environments, commercial spaces and residential requirements. ALP has been recognised by the European Medical institute for excellence in product development and by the ministry of Italy for its commitment to innovation.

ALP System Panel is a high density (over 95%) a rigid, closed-cell hydro polyurethane sandwiched between a layer of pure aluminum facings.  ALP full range of facings are treated during the manufacturing process ensuring that the product is suitable for various environments including the harsh UV rays and the chemical erosion reaction of high chloride facilities like swimming pools.  ALP advocates its commitment to the globes pollution problem by ensuing that it uses the latest advancements in manufacturing, ensuing that ALP insulation board is free from any ozone depleting free radicals such as CFC, HCFC and HFC. ALP systems have been in use for over 40 years in harsh environmental applications, you will find ALP in outdoor environments close to salty water atmospheres of the coast, hot humid climates of the middle east and in cold snowy environments throughout Europe.  With systems in operation for over 30 years both indoor and outdoor, nothing comes close to ALP systems.

ALP Panel for Mechanical Rooms

Choose from various thicknesses for the right thermal performance. ALP sandwich panel composed of a CFC-, HCFC- and HFC- free, closed-cell, expanded Polyurethane board. Foam density is equal to 48kg/m3, Aluminums for the inner facing is from 80 microns thick, the outer facing is 200 microns thick; both are treated with a transparent, protective Varnish

ALP for Outdoor Applications –

63mm thick, a sandwich panel composed of a CFC-, HCFC- and HFC- free, closed-cell, expanded Polyurethane board with a density equal to 48kg/m3, aluminum with the inner facing of 80 microns thick, the outer facing of 200 or a 200 inner and 500 outer micron facing, giving extreme durability; both are treated with a transparent, protective Varnish.

ALP System Active

This Antimicrobial technology is not only used on the ALP Panels, it also extends to the glues, sealants, profiles and accessories

To create ALP Active System, an Antimicrobial patented technology by ALP is used to not just prevent the growth of Bacteria on the Ducts’ surface, but to destroy Pathogens.

ALP has created a natural antimicrobial compound; ALP active Antimicrobial which has proven to eliminate over 600 families of microbes without using an invasive chemical solution to provide a result that benefits people’s well-being.

ALP active Antimicrobial is incorporated into the Panel’s surface, where it hinders the formation of pathogens. In the inner aluminum surface, incorporates the Silver and Zeolite Ions are; Silver Ions in conditions of normal humidity are released into the air and provide three Antimicrobial actions. The Silver ions damage the cell walls of the microbes, they interrupt the Microbes’ breathing and arrest their reproduction through RNA inhibition.

Benefits of the ALP System Active
  • Improving the Air quality through the Antimicrobial treatment.
  • The destruction of Pathogens and therefore any infections they may cause.
  • Ideal for High Risk Applications – Operating Theatres, Laboratories, Pharmaceutical and Food Industries etc.
  • Certified and Proven; the only Duct in the World whose competency has been backed up by backed up by many Research Bodies and Government Departments.
